Custom 'Amore' LED Neon Sign
Generally, each LED inside of our LED Flex Neon has a lifespan of up to 40,000 hours of use. Meaning that our signs can last for up to 40,000 hours or 4 years of illumination. Gradually over the course of use the LEDs will fade to a gentle light and switch off, this takes some serious use first though! When using our signs 24/7 we recommend switching them off for a 24-hour period every 14 days to ensure the specified lifetime. Transformers and LEDs can overheat from constant use decreasing their total lifetime.
Our signs are not neon signs - they’re LED Neon effect signs to be precise! Why we use LED? Imagine finding a product that has an almost seamless appearance to neon, but is cheaper, non-fragile, eco-friendly and totally safe to have around the home. You would find LED Neon - or specifically our Rad Super Mini LED Neon. All of our signs are made from LED Neon tube unlike the traditional glass tube neon containing argon. The main difference is that LED neon is more eco-friendly, as signs contain zero mercury and use very little electricity vs traditional neon which uses between 3KV – 18KV (KV standing for killer volts). LED neon is also cheaper to purchase, as well as a lot cheaper to run. We would not recommend using Traditional Neon signs in a kids room for example - but our LED Neon signs are a perfectly safe option & dimmable as a nightlight too - bonus!
Thankfully, LED Neon signs are not dangerous! Our signs are low voltage (12 volts), they produce minimal heat so they’re safe to touch – even when they’ve been on for all week! There is also zero glass in our product as we use our Rad Super Mini LED Neon, which has a similar feel to a piece of rubber tube, and all signs are attached to an acrylic backing which for the most part are also hard to break. On the chance that you do damage your LED neon sign, it will likely be the acrylic backing the cracks, the PVC tube that houses the LEDs is near impossible to smash open. It will not shatter like traditional neon, which is a glass tube and could easily be hazardous. We certainly would not recommend using Traditional Neon signs in a kids room for example - but our LED Neon signs are a perfectly safe option.
