Top career paths in crypto

When it comes to career options that are generating a lot of buzz these days, cryptocurrency and the wider blockchain market are one of the biggest industries to consider. Over the past few years, the number of jobs that are available in cryptocurrency and blockchain has grown massively. And many companies are not finding it easy to fill their crypto-related positions.

If you are a professional looking for an exciting career, crypto could be the best option for you. The demand is high, and there are tons of amazing opportunities to be had. Keep reading to learn more about some of the highest-paying jobs in crypto today.

1. Blockchain developer

A career as a blockchain developer is likely to be the most widespread when it comes to jobs in cryptocurrency. Along with playing a major role in the crypto industry, there are opportunities in various other industries, such as transportation, banking and healthcare.

A blockchain developer works on establishing infrastructure, creating code, outlining security protocols and more. To work in this role, you will usually need to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree along with programming experience in several languages.

2. Software Engineer

Software engineers have a crucial role in creating new crypto-related services and products. The exact duties in this role can vary; however, the majority of positions will involve some code maintenance, programming, platform integration, and more.

Although many companies will prefer to hire somebody who has experience in the blockchain space, it is possible for you to transition into a software engineer position in cryptocurrency even if your previous experience as a software engineer is in another industry. It's also usually expected that you have a degree in a related field.

3. Cryptocurrency Analyst

Crypto analysts are focused on watching market movements and where capital is flowing in the space, they are tasked with monitoring various exchanges and ensuring that trading of an asset is worthwhile, and if there are price movements with potential profits and how they can benefit from movements in space.

An analyst could, for example, focus on Ethereum using an exchange like OKx, where they'll find price charts and predictions that have likely been put together by a cryptocurrency analyst. The main aim of this role is to identify and track trends in the digital currency space.

Crypto analysts are often tasked with identifying leverageable opportunities to ensure that their clients or employer is able to capitalise on legislation that impacts the market, shifts in public perception, or simply make wiser investments.

4. Security architect

The fact that cryptocurrency is reasonably secure by design is one of the main reasons why it is so appealing. However, this doesn't mean that the underlying technology is enough on its own. Companies that operate in the blockchain and crypto spaces will often hire security architects to work on making sure that their systems are not vulnerable to modification or intrusion.

The role involves seeking out potential signs of fraud or threats while developing systems to ensure that security is as strong as possible. If you are interested in getting into this role, a bachelor's degree will usually be required. There are also various professional certifications that you can get to prepare yourself for the role and stand out from other competitors in the job market.

Blockchain and cryptocurrency aren't just getting bigger for investors. For those with the skills needed to work in this industry, there are lots of interesting and lucrative roles available.

5. UX developer

A lot of blockchain services are user-facing, and they require interfaces that are easy to use, or adoption for products will take too long as the learning curve is far too steep. As blockchain companies see the cost to acquire and retain a user increase, user interface design only becomes more important. Working as a UX designer with a focus on designing a robust and easy-to-use interface for blockchain services is in high demand.

It is their duty to make the solution user-friendly, immersive, and innovative. The main focus of UX developers should be on giving users a seamless interface that focuses on simplifying the work for the users.

Couple that with the surge in the popularity of Web3 technology and Metaverse, blockchain UX developers have even more places to play, explore and have creative freedom.

6. Cryptocurrency researcher

The world of blockchain and cryptocurrency has so much going on, and it's hard to keep up, and as companies want to improve, they need to learn from past mistakes and watch what competitors are doing. Researchers and research teams are fundamental to a successful blockchain business; some will focus on researching open source code, others with security vulnerabilities, some will focus on feature sets, and others will research user issues and design problems.

Since this is a new field, researchers are responsible for creating the body of knowledge the company will draw from to improve the product, various services, code bases and even internal processes.

7. Legal consultant

As blockchain has to deal with financial transactions and contracts and can also be applied across borders, you tend to make strides into legalities. To ensure that your company is in good legal standing and not subject to any infringements locally and abroad, legal counselling is a must. Blockchain legal consultants give advice to entities related to crypto projects, product launches, etc. They also help them manage the legal contracts by making them understand the terms and conditions. Consultants ensure that their clients satisfy the regulatory guidelines of their native countries.

8. Crypto community manager

Cryptocurrency projects tend to be rather social, with a lot of communication going through channels like YouTube and Twitter. To ensure that your company keeps customers and investors up to date with what's going on and manage expectations, you need professionals handling your social accounts.

These professionals play an important role in marketing and client connections. They work as network coordinators who manage and control engagement stats over the Internet or social media platforms. The task requires a crypto community manager to be well-versed in the project details so that they can handle the queries of clients easily. Freshers with a blockchain degree can apply for this job.

Conclusion

Given the amount of capital flowing into the blockchain space, it is no surprise that there is a significant shift of interest from a centralised to a decentralised infrastructure; blockchain technology has become part and parcel of our society.

The technology offers new work opportunities both locally and abroad and is predicted to continue to grow over the next ten years. Making blockchain and cryptocurrency a potential breeding ground for job opportunities.
