A Simple Guide to Planning a Backyard Wedding
23 November 2020 | 0 comments | Posted by Mia Ackerson in Extravaganza
If you are a couple who loves being outdoors and want to have a unique, sentimental wedding, there isn't a better option than having a backyard wedding. There are so many different benefits that come from having a backyard wedding. One of those is convenience and the overall cost. But backyard weddings come with more details that you need to plan.
To plan the ultimate backyard wedding, here is a guide to help you.
Choose a date
First and foremost, you will need to pick the right date for your ceremony. The key to picking the correct date is thinking of details such as the weather, where you live and the time of the year. Pick a date that you will be sure that the weather will be decent. Unfortunately, you can never be 100 per cent sure that it will be perfect weather, but you can hope.
That is why you also need to think about what time of the year it is. If you live in Florida, you can have your summer wedding even in the beginning of September and still be okay. But if you live in England, there is no chance that the weather will be warm enough for an outdoor wedding.
Don't forget about other logistics
Depending on where you live, to get married, you will need to have a marriage license. Some areas will require them others won't. Check before it is too late. Another vital thing to think about when you are planning a backyard wedding is your power sources. Of Course, you will have music and lights.
Therefore you will need a way to power them. When it comes close to your wedding day, you will need to make sure that the grass is trimmed and all the branches and weeds are cleared. Once you have everything neat, map your seating so you are sure that it can work as you imagined.
Think about insuring your home
Another critical safety issue that you need to keep in mind is insurance. If you are throwing a wedding, the chances of people getting drunk are relatively high. To make sure nothing happens that will ruin the day look into getting you home insured just in case.
If you live in a neighbourhood, it is best to notify your neighbours that you are having a wedding. That way they can prepare for the noise and all the cars in front of your home.
Think about wedding photography
When you are having a wedding in your backyard, then the chances are that you want to have a fancy professional photographer. That is why you need to unleash your creativity and imagination. Everything can become a fabulous backdrop if you try hard enough.
One of the best ideas that will spice up your wedding is having a photo booth that has fun photography backdrops. Things don't have to be posh to look good.
Always have a backup plan
One of the most important things, when you are planning a backyard wedding, is to have a backup plan. As we have mentioned earlier, you can't control mother nature. You will have to have a plan in case you need to take the party inside or how to cover up your yard.
Another thing that is good to have ready are fans if you are planning to have a wedding during summer. But if you have it towards the end of summer or in autumn have some heaters ready to go. Think of things ahead of time so you can relax on your wedding day.
Final words
Having a backyard wedding will carry so many sentimental values, but it will also help you save some money. There is nothing more meaningful than finally marrying the love of your life; the place where you do it is just a bonus.
