How To Sell Your Blockchain Domain

24 March 2022 | 0 comments | Posted by Claire Wouters in Geek Chic

Selling a blockchain domain

Purchasing your blockchain domain for some is a novelty and something they want to try out for others; selling is a method of recouping their investment. If you've purchased a blockchain domain from Unstoppable Domains and you're wondering how would I sell it, or need some help, then this tutorial will show you how. We will explain how to take your domain and register it on third party websites known as NFT marketplaces and solicit bids from those interested in buying domains.

Why sell your blockchain domain?

So you own a blockchain domain, but you don't have any plans to develop it into a website, use it as a private email address or as an easy to understand donation address, then don't feel like you're stuck with it; you can put it up for sale.

Maybe you purchased a particular TLD extension, but you no longer wish to use that version but another and want to move on the domains you no longer wish to own.

Perhaps you purchase domains for clients, and they no longer wish to use them, and you need to sell them on the client's behalf.

You want to trade NFTs and think that domain names are an excellent speculative asset, and you want to purchase a host of domains to see if you can resell them on the open market.

Whatever your reason is, selling your blockchain domain isn't as hard as you may think, and we'll show you how.

How to sell your domain on Ethereum?

  • If your domain is listed on an Ethereum address, it would be best if you had an Ethereum wallet installed in your browser, such as meta mask.
  • Insert your private key into the wallet and boot it up.
  • Once the wallet is connected, you should see all the assets available.
  • If not, you may need to add your assets manually to see them in the wallet UI
  • Next, you head over to a Marketplace like OpenSea.
  • Sign up on OpenSea
  • Connect your Ethereum wallet
  • Once you have an account, head over to the profile
  • Find the domain you would like to sell
  • Click the sell button in the top right-hand corner.
  • Next, you would need to set the type of sale and the price of your domain.

How to sell your domain on Polygon?

  • If your domain is listed on a Polygon (MATRIC) address, it would be best if you had a Polygon wallet installed in your browser, such as meta mask.
  • Insert your private key into the wallet and boot it up.
  • Once the wallet is connected, you should see all the assets available.
  • If not, you may need to add your assets manually to see them in the wallet UI Next, you head over to a Marketplace like OpenSea.
  • Sign up on OpenSea
  • Connect your Polygon wallet and make sure you're connected to the Polygon network
  • Once you have an account, head over to the profile
  • Find the domain you would like to sell; sometimes it may be in the hidden section, so click "hidden" to unhide all domains, and you'll find it
  • Click the sell button in the top right-hand corner. Next, you would need to set the type of sale and the price of your domain.

How to sell your domain on Zilliqa?

  • Before you are able to sell your .zil domain on Mintable, you must first Upload your .zil Keystore to ZilPay.
  • If your domain is listed on a Zilliqa address, it would be best if you had a Zil wallet installed in your browser, such as Zilpay.
  • Insert your private key into the wallet and boot it up.
  • Once the wallet is connected, you should see all the assets available.
  • If not, you may need to add your assets manually to see them in the wallet UI Next, you head over to a Marketplace like Mintable.
  • Sign up on Mintable
  • Once you have an account, head over to the profile
  • Then click the sell option.
  • Select the option the NFT is already in my wallet.
  • Then select unstoppable domains.
  • Lastly, click connect.
  • Next, you would need to set the type of sale and the price of your domain and set your sale offer for listing

Exploring the decentralised web

If you have purchased a decentralised domain or you want to explore domains that others have created websites for, then you can either use directories created to curate these websites or decentralised search engines. These websites will give you access not only to others websites, but any of the websites you've built on either of the domains you own, regardless of the blockchain it's on because they support Ethereum, Polygon and Zilliqa blockchains.

Reserving your domain

Now that you know how decentralised domain registration works, will you be getting one? Do you own one already? If not you can purchase one today at Unstoppable Domains.
