What Are Natural Appetite Suppressants

11 February 2021 | 0 comments | Posted by Alisa Weaver in Masterchefs

Suppress appetite with natural foods

With all the slim quick pills and plans out there, it is hard to know what works or is just a pharmaceutical gimmick with terrible side effects. If you're not keen on medication or modern treatments and feel eating habits is a better option then I think taking a look at natural appetite suppressant options is a better way to shed pounds.

Food is wonderful. It tastes great, it brings us warmth and comfort, and without it, we will die. But what we eat is not always good for us, and while it may have some nourishing qualities, the fact of the matter is that too much of anything is never good for you. And some food doesn't do anything to curb your hunger, even if you eat a lot.

No one wants to walk around with a rumbling belly. But do you want to continue to expand your waistline with food that does nothing for you but add pounds and lower your self-esteem?

Perhaps it is time to change the game, adjust your diet, and suppress those cravings. And the only reasonable way to do that is with the right appetite suppressant.

Picking the right one

Not all appetite suppressants are created equal. For instance, pharmaceutical versions use chemicals to curb your food needs between meals. They adjust your body chemistry to trick the system. The problem is, when you stop taking them, the body doesn't respond well. You can feel symptoms of withdrawal and relapse to your old habits.

Natural appetite suppressants though not only help you with the cravings but also help the body in other ways. One of the best all-natural appetite suppressants is simply water. And I think we can all agree that the majority of us do not drink enough water.

It is helpful, necessary, and limits your needs for other foods for short amounts of time. Coffee suppresses appetite due to the antioxidants and caffeine it contains.

Also, it slightly boosts metabolism and acts as a mild diuretic. Therefore, it is advised to drink it before a workout. But you shouldn't drink more than two cups a day, and also - zero its effect with cream and sugar.

Green tea works thanks to the catechin substances similarly - they help keep blood sugar at a stable level, thereby reducing hunger. Here are some examples of natural appetite suppressant foods that your body will appreciate:

  • Apples: A delicious snack and an excellent source of vitamin C.
  • Avocado: A versatile snack; it is full of fibre and fats the body needs.
  • Oatmeal with fruit: Add strawberries, blueberries, or bananas, and you have a high fibre start to your day.
  • Nuts: All nuts are sources of good fats, but almonds also offer antioxidants, Vitamin E and magnesium. That is why they are called a superfood.
  • Water: Water is not only suitable for filling the belly between meals; it also can improve your energy level.

Conclusion

The internet is full of sites offering natural appetite suppressant suggestions but be cautious. Some of them can have side effects. Tofu, for instance, increases the cortisol level in your blood, blocking the production of testosterone. That is just one example. Consult a nutritionist if you have any concerns about changing your diet. Have you tried any of these to curb your midday cravings?
