Getting Started With Facebook Marketing

09 October 2019 | 0 comments | Posted by Diane H. Wong in Industry Experts

A beginners overview of Facebook Marketing

Facebook is increasingly becoming the hotspot for many businesses since they are diverting their traffic to their fan page. These fan pages on Facebook work wonders for companies because social networks are active. What this means for you is that the people who are logging in and using Facebook daily could very well be the target marketing you're trying to reach.

Facebook makes the process of reaching out to your target market more accessible and more personal, which is part of the secret of its success. These tips will help ensure that your business is getting everything it can from your Facebook marketing strategy.

Keep up with changes

When you're using Facebook for driving your business needs, you should be ready for changes in design that Facebook keeps making from time to time. For the sake of your business, you must make sure these changes are dealt with quickly and efficiently, so they don't have a chance to derail your Facebook strategy. Facebook announced these changes on short notice, so you'll have to keep up with these changes.

You may recall recent changes that impacted the tab canvas page; these are excellent examples — businesses with customized tabs needed to have them resized as quickly as possible. Like any sensible business, you shouldn't worry about these changes but rather welcome them. The above only begin to scratch the surface of what is offered concerning Facebook marketing.

Take a look at what is occurring on your end, and that may help you to perfect what you need. There are always some things that will have more of an effect than others. No matter what, your careful consideration of the topic at hand is something you and all of us have to do. The latter half of our discussion will centre on a few highly relevant issues as they concern your possible situation.

Page URL

Facebook has started authorizing vanity URLs to their members. This equates to having a Facebook page listed as Facebook.com/YourBusinessName. This is very important because you want people to see, recognize and remember your URL page.

Make it user-friendly for your fans by utilizing the vanity URL function. In addition to that, this will give you the chance to get your business name in the URL, which will act as a good thing for Facebook page SEO.

Get acquainted with your followers

Use the knowledge about how your fans are interacting with you and which conversations seem to get them going that you're learning on Facebook wisely – you can gain this knowledge from Facebook insights. Insights is a reporting tool provided by Facebook that gives you valuable insight into the activities of your fans. When used to improve your service to your target audience or market, this information will prove invaluable.

This is another reason why it's better to use a business profile rather than a personal one because this feature isn't available for personal profiles. These tips help you develop a strategy that will be more effective for reaching out to your Facebook audience. Big and small businesses alike are using Facebook every day to make inroads with their target audiences.

Don't waste another minute waiting to start using Facebook; the time is now.

Increase online sales through Facebook

As you all know by now that Facebook offers excellent opportunities for you and your business to succeed online. Now let's examine the infinite possibilities you have when you start marketing your business on Facebook. You should not be surprised at the fact that nowadays, significant corporations and multinational companies are taking social networking very seriously as well as politicians and celebrities.

But where do you find yourself and your business in this social media equation?

If you are an Internet marketer, a work from home parent, or a big company, there are many opportunities that you can use to your advantage through social media. Another great thing about social media is that many of these opportunities are free of cost. Now you must be wondering about what you can do with Facebook that will give you and your business the market exposure that you need.

For starters, here are five things you can start working on immediately.

Create a Facebook profile

Five hundred million and constantly growing Facebook users will be your target audience, and to reach out and connect with them, you need to make a Facebook profile.

If you represent a company and then you have to open a business profile. But if you're an internet marketer, then you can create a personal profile like many other Facebook other, but you should try to establish yourself as a brand or an expert in your chosen field or niche market.

Use Facebook ads to promote your business and products

It is much cheaper than Google, and you can target your market with laser accuracy. For example, if your target market is the British women between the ages of 30 and 50. You can target them precisely with the help of Facebook Ads demographic selection. You can even target people based on their birthdays if you want to.

Build a targeted network of friends

You can find people who share similar interests and hobbies with you, and you can target them to build a circle of friends to promote your business. Once your network starts growing, it will become one of the most valuable assets for your business. Facebook makes it very simple and easy to build an extensive network of like-minded people.

Familiarise yourself with Facebook applications

You can use Facebook Applications to promote your website and business. When the Facebook app goes viral, it will send tons of free visitors and customers to your webpage and offer. If you set up everything correctly, then you can build a big network of raving customers and fans in a short amount of time.

Incorporate Facebook and other social networks in the structure of your website

Once you incorporate Facebook and several other social networks on your website, you will see an increase in the number of website visitors leaving positive comments on your blog posts and articles. This will create social proof about your business and will attract more new visitors and customers.

Google Vs Facebook advertising

Today, I will be listing the main differences and making a comparison between Facebook Advertising and Google Adwords. This is to give you an idea about which method of advertising works best for what kind of niche markets, businesses and demographics.

Cost of advertising

Facebook Advertising is a lot cheaper than Google at the time of writing this post. There are a few highly competitive markets which are almost impossible to enter on Google unless you have a million-dollar advertising budget. However, Facebook is currently trying to compete with Google. Therefore the cost of running ads on Facebook are less expensive than Google.

Ad targeting

Google targets its ads based on Keywords. Therefore your ads will only become visible to the users who are searching for those keywords on Google. This method of search generates highly targeted website visitors who will find what they are looking for online.

On the other hand, let's say for example, if you want to target only women living in the United States for a Victoria's Secret CPA Offer who are in between the ages of 18 and 30 and are also interested in fashion and lingerie, then the keywords based search system provided by Google will not be able to offer you the type of highly targeted demographic marketing which Facebook can.

But there are a few other factors that come into play which I'll explain further.

Quality of traffic

We experienced in Facebook that if your target audience belongs to a specific demographic or Facebook groups, then they most likely will be interested in your product or service. However, on Google, if someone searches a particular product or service, then you can be sure that either they are very much interested to know more about your product or service or they are ready to purchase.

I think Google wins over Facebook in this aspect. A well written and highly targeted ad on Google Adwords can get as much as 30% of click-through rate, and you can be sure that they are looking for your product because they spent the time and went through the trouble to search for your product online.

On the other hand, with Facebook, just because someone fits your targeted demographic does not mean that they are ready and willing to buy your product whenever they see your ad. This is one of the significant differences between Google and Facebook Advertising platforms.

Volume of traffic

Up until a few months ago, Google was winning in this area. But recently, Facebook overcame Google in the amount of traffic that it receives. With millions of active users hanging around on Facebook, you can target a bigger audience. But let us not forget that just because a lot of people will be able to see your ad, it will not necessarily increase your conversions and sales compared to a smaller number of people looking at your ads which are much more interested in its content.

So in this aspect of comparison, in the end, it will depend on the product or service that you want to offer as to whether it's appealing enough to attract a large volume of casual visitors from Facebook, or whether you would like to limit it to a hardcore group of very interested searchers from Google.

Advertising network's flexibility

As most internet marketers know by now that, Google has been getting strict with its advertising rules lately and has even abruptly cancelled some of their regular advertisers' Adwords accounts.

Facebook, in comparison, is not so harsh like Google and has now become a more preferred place to advertise for affiliates and internet marketers. If you are into building email lists, then Facebook will probably be a better advertising platform for you.

Conclusion

To conclude both advertising platforms are right in their terms, but if you have to decide which one to pick then, it depends on many factors like what kind of product or service you are promoting, who is the target market and what's your advertising budget.

Keeping these factors in mind, you should pick the one that suits best to your advertising needs.
