6 Unconventional Forms Of Exercises You Haven’t Considered

Unconventional Forms Of Exercises

As we all know, our body is a temple. This is not just some metaphor to brush off your shoulders. We all should be treating our bodies with as much care and respect as we would those we love. One of the main factors in self-care is exercise, and if you already have a rigorous exercising routine that you stick to well, then you are already miles ahead of the game.

For a lot of us, exercise can be a delicate subject. It is a relationship we always have to force ourselves into for our well-being, and once we create the habit, we eventually realise its power. Attending the gym for exercise can feel mundane and repetitive, so it is important to allow yourself to experience various forms of exercise.

This might be a grey area for many people, but there are hundreds of exciting ways you can train your body in any desired way that doesn't have to involve a gym membership. These can be outdoors, indoors, or whatever you would prefer.

A lot of exercising outside the gym seems to be neglected as not many people tend to document and share their experiences. It can also feel daunting taking up a sport as a beginner at an adult age, but you should be willing to reach into your inner child and try out some of our suggested methods:

Rock climbing

If you are looking for a mental and physical challenge to spice up your workouts, rock climbing might be for you. It is a great sport that teaches resistance whilst working your arms, back and forearms in a much more rigorous style than you can obtain within the gym.

There are many beginner classes and training spaces that offer beginner lessons, and you can take your rock climbing training to different heights as you progress (literally!).

Invest in a bike

If you are the type of person who spends most of your day sitting at desks and the idea of getting 10,000 steps a day seems near impossible, you might want to consider getting a bike.

Whether you choose to use one as a form of commuting or you simply wish to go on country rides on the weekends, riding a bike is a form of exercise. It can be a fun and productive way of getting to where you need to go whilst getting some mileage in.

Hula hooping

Hula hooping is not just something to keep in your childhood memories; it is a great way to cut some inches off your waist without needing too much movement.

Many people have turned to hula hooping as a strategy for weight loss if their movement is restricted by injury or they want to work out within the comfort of their homes. If you want to take things to the next level, invest in a weighted hula hoop for extra resistance training, play your favourite tracks, and hula hoop away!

Boxing

Boxing is an amazing way to push your body to its absolute limits. Boxers are known as some of the toughest athletes in the world, and if you are looking to step outside your comfort zone, this is a great one to try. Contrary to popular belief, women's boxing is on the rise as much as men, so if you are looking to give boxing, go get your favourite women's tracksuit on and find your nearest boxing gym.

Puppy yoga

What is the easiest way to make yoga more enjoyable? By surrounding yourself with puppies, of course! Puppy yoga is now on the rise, becoming more common in major cities. It is the cutest way to unwind your body and mind, enjoying the peace and playfulness of puppies whilst they surround you.

If you are wondering how anyone can get anything done whilst a bunch of excited puppies invade the space, do not worry; you have some focused time before you get attacked with cuteness.

Hiking with friends

Hiking can be whatever you would want it to be. If you are looking for a simple country walk, there should be available trails in most areas. On the contrary, if you are looking for something more intermediate, there are tons of steep hiking trails to test your durability and resistance.

If you go on regular hiking trails, heading up a mountain will be like a stroll in the park! Gather a group of your friends to join you on the long walks; it is also important to think about safety if you decide to hike anywhere more treacherous.
